Aww...Allegra, what a touching story! And dedicating it to your mother and brother made it even moreso. Loved how Ben gave Heyes something to think about and how it turned Heyes around.

That was a very moving story, AllegraW. Tender and sentimental but not treacly or trite. I hope you enjoyed writing it as much as I enjoyed reading it. (By enjoy, I mean I hope you found writing your story a positive rather than a negative experience.)

An important story for us all to read and take to heart. If it is in any way based on fact, you have my sympathies. I'm glad you took your time, for you, and gave us a nonmelodramatic reminder to count our blessings for what we had and what we may still have in our lives. Thank you for the reminder.

A story written straight from the heart - and it showed. Lovely Allegra.

Allegra--
Beautiful thoughts, well done. But ooooooo, I just REALLY wanted to jump in the scene and cuddle with them in front of that fire. |

Very funny Ghislaine - and they sound like reasons we should count our blessings too!

Ghislaine Top three reasons why I liked this story:
3. Ghislaine remains unflattened - She was right! 2. Unique and very funny. 1. Reason number 1.

Cute...very cute and clever, Ghislaine! You put a BIG on my face and had me laughing outloud at work. Thanks for the top ten reasons to count our blessings.

Oh Allegra! That was truly touching – and not overplayed. And I love the simplicity of the last line.
Ghislaine!!! Yeah! That was clever!!! Love the speeding train one!! And the fickle-faced Lom joke (the two-faced - er – multi-faced man, huh?) But- but – but – I think I MIGHT like Kid to find his inner sequin and dance a jig for us all!!!

AllegraW - Beautiful! What a wonderful tribute to your mum and brother! She would be proud to know you've decided to follow her wise example and 'count your blessings'!
Ghislaine - Cute! I'm counting my twenty-first century blessings...and numbering two fictional nineteenth century outlaws among them.

Sister Grace - I always thought Kid snitching the keys in the pilot was pretty cool. And Yes, Kid counts as a blessing twice over! A great little story snippet!

I love seeing Kid get the better of Heyes! Excellent characterizations, Sister Grace, and perfect setting for this month's story. The last line was my favorite!
(P.S. Thank you, everyone, for your kind words about my offering. I wasn't sure if it would come across as funny or not. And, is it my imagination--which can stray to the wild side when prompted, obviously!--but it seems like you all are having just as much fun responding to it as I did writing it!)

Sister Grace, a great humerous missing scene. I wish it didn't wind up on the cutting room floor -would have loved to see it in film. I always wondered why the writers didn't expand upon Kid's pickpocketing abitities. With his fast hands it is a natural talent. Love when Gandpa Curry is included and the last bit was the best!
